Description:

1. The style of minimalism is more than popular, captivating with its functionality and inner freedom, in the spirit of a modern and energetic personality. The genre of minimalism is strict and requires an impeccable sense of proportion and style, not forgiving mistakes and fuss. Minimalism needs space. In rooms that are large in area and height, it looks more concise and more natural.

2. Functionality is the main property of minimalist design, thanks to which it is not only possible, but also comfortable to live in a minimalist interior. Little does not mean uncomfortable, all pieces of furniture, appliances, decor should remain practical and comfortable for life.

3. The most important thing when creating an interior in the style of minimalism is a well-planned space, in which there is a lot of diffused, calm light, when it seems that the walls and ceiling themselves are glowing, there is a lot of air. Divide the lighting into zones, play with the brightness of the lighting, making the zones uneven, avoid direct light. Fixtures are usually not visible or they are simple in form.

4. To create a feeling of spaciousness in the interior in the style of minimalism, the room is freed from internal partitions, redevelopment is often carried out, additional openings are created, doors are replaced with geometric arches. Large windows, saturating the space with light, connect the housing with the outside world, making it part of the interior.

5. Space zoning is done using the color of the floor, translucent fabric or glass of sliding partitions, using lighting in the walls, floor or ceiling.

History of minimalist style:

MINIMALISM (lat. minimus - the smallest) is a design style characterized by conciseness, simplicity, accuracy and clarity of composition. With the help of simple forms, as well as functional objects, Europe tried to displace the Art Nouveau style, characterized by romance, ornateness and spirituality.

Romanticism is being replaced by functionalism, they begin to appreciate the properties of the object, and not its aesthetic qualities. Minimalism is the brightest and most controversial style of the second half of the 20th century.

Rejecting classical creative techniques and traditional art materials, minimalists use industrial and natural materials of simple geometric shapes, neutral colors (black, gray) and small volumes. The origins of minimalism lie in constructivism and functionalism. One of the most popular ethnic varieties of minimalism is Japanese minimalism.

The most prominent representatives of the minimalist style: Karim Rashid, Naoto Fukasawa, Peter Zumthor. Minimalism also took the form of the "minimal art" art movement that emerged in New York in the 1960s.

Art included geometric forms stripped of all symbolism, repetition, neutral surfaces, industrial materials. Minimal artists include Carl Andre, Dan Flavin, Saul LeWitt, Donald Judd, Robert Morris, and the sometimes credited Frank Stella.
